It is a simpler cousin of poker: everyone gets three cards, and the best hand, or the last player standing, takes the pot. What Teen Patti is
Everyone antes a small starting stake (the boot) into the pot, and each player is dealt three cards face down. Players then bet in turns, raising or folding, and the pot grows. You win either by forcing everyone else to fold, or by having the highest-ranked three-card hand at the show. That is the shape of every round.

Blind vs seen play
This is what makes Teen Patti distinctive. You can play blind — betting without looking at your cards — or seen, after checking them. A blind player bets at least the minimum stake; a seen player must bet at least twice that. Playing blind keeps your bets cheap and hides your strength, which is why bold players often stay blind for the first few rounds.
How a round plays
- Everyone posts the boot (ante) to start the pot.
- Three cards are dealt face down to each player.
- In turn, each player bets — blind or seen — raises, or folds.
- Betting continues around the table until a show is called or only one player remains.
The show
When two players are left, one can call a show by paying the required stake — with both seen, that is twice the current bet. Both hands are revealed and the higher ranking wins the pot. If the hands somehow tie, the player who did not pay for the show takes it. Fold before a show and you simply lose whatever you have already put in.
